Explore the secret sounds of Copenhagen
The game machines at Tivolis spillemaskiner transform into minimalis techno music, a perfume department of one of the city's shopping centres reappear in complex structures of sound while Nørreport becomes a jungle of drones... Wundergrund 2009, The Goethe Institute Dänemark and Jazzkælderen present the renowned Germain sound pioneer and artist Christina Kubisch, who has tuned in on Copenhagen.
Kubisch has done Electrical Walks in cities like Sao Paolo and New York. Electrical Walks is now presented in Copenhagen as a taste of the Wundergrund Music Festival, which takes place in Copenhagen from October 31 - November 7 2009.
It is quite free to take an Electrical Walk through Copenhagen. After leaving valid identification at Jazz Kælderen in Skindergade, you receive a city map and a special set of head phones, which enhance the electrical sound landscape of the city: Cash machines, store alarm systems and electrical light displays change into musical notes and strange timbres.
