One dream revolves around the laundress of the Universe, another tells of a rather mechanized lit de parade, displaying gilded, dead popstars on an assembly line.
These are just a few of the dreams, which are slowly penetrating the area around Hvidovrevej. As a part of the sound installation The City that Dreamed Itself, artist Pejk Malinovski has been recording and collecting a number of dreams, through interviews with some of the residents in the area.
Malinovski will transmit the personal and private dreams in public space using radio signals and loudspeakers. The official opening of the installation is on Thursday the 13th of August, 6 pm at Hvidovre Torv. Where to localize the loudspeakers and radio frequencies will be announced here at www.lyslyd.com and at Facebook.
Already, there is a chance you will run into a dream in the middle of your everyday life – some of the dream sequences manifest themselves on electronic message displays along Hvidovrevej and add a new dimension to the busy road in Hvidovre.
Donate your dream
To collect these dreams, Pejk Malinovski has started a website, hvidovredroemme.lyslyd.com, where the citizens of Hvidovre have been donating their dreams, and Malinovski would like even more dreams in his collection: You are invited o tell the sory of this night’s dream, or an old dream, maybe from your childhood. What the dream is about is not important, and the dream can be delivered anonymously at hvidovredroemme.lyslyd.com.
The opening of The City that Dreamed Itself also marks the official opening of the LIGHTSOUND art- and urban development projects in 10 different municipalities.
