LIGHTSOUND IN 2009

5th January 10

2009 was an eventful year for LIGHTSOUND:

Seminars and workshops have led to discussions and exchange, Danish and international artists have held workshops with the local participants from the municipalities, and in August 11 urban spaces were transformes by the first round of LIGHTSOUND art projects. A new agenda was set for the way a city can be seen, heard and experienced.

In November and December, the art and climate festival Glowing Climate took place in Ørestad. The festival contributed to COP 15 with glowing pieces of art spread all over the area and with creative, alternative and subtle events intervening in the climate debate.

In December, the municipality of Hvidovre presented expanded space, a 145 m interactive video installation at Avedøreværket. The projections reacted on the power of the wind, and on windy days the power station seemed to move concurrently with the wind.

Now it's time for the next round of LIGHTSOUND urban space projects.

10-28 February 10 new urban spaces will deliver the streets, windows and facades for different light installations, which all create alternative experiences in familiar public spaces.

Keep an eye on the projects in FEBRUAR 2010 - right now we are updating the sites with more information on the individual projects.
