Development of LIGHTSOUND

The project has its origins in METROPOLIS – the new festival of art and performance in city space - which develops projects in laboratories as well as introducing finished urban space projects.

LIGHTSOUND builds upon a pilot project, which was initiated during Metropolis Laboratory 2008 (Metropolis: Light and Sound), also with a grant from the European Regional Development Fund, The Capital Region of Denmark and Region Zealand as well as from the project partners.

The pilot project budget amounted to a total of DKK 4,380,000.

METROPOLIS was launched in 2007 by Copenhagen International Theatre and takes place in the urban spaces of Copenhagen for the second time in August 2009.
