The LIGHTSOUND Project wants to create vibrant and exciting urban spaces, through an innovative course, which will be attractive to new companies and talents from the various lines of business, increase citizen commitment and the local identity of the municipalities, and attract tourists.
The project will assist the municipalities in their efforts to strengthen and develop the framework agreements concerning creative enterprises.
LIGHTSOUND is organized around four parallel strategies and focus areas:
• Knowledge and network strategy
• Urban planning strategy
• Event strategy
• Communication strategy
In the long-range, LIGHTSOUND aims to create the basis for interdisciplinary partnerships within the light, sound an new media sector, as well as lead to the establishment of an innovative and vocational oriented Light and Sound Academy.
The urban space projects are conceived as a significant and returning cultural event as well as the source of the development of praxis within the field.
Innovative connections
Light, sound and multimedia have been chosen to be the pivotal point in this project, as they are hybrids between culture, art, commerce and public space.
Innovative connections between businesses, art, and culture constitute the core of the experience economy – one of the most important areas of growth. The municipal business policies and strategies focus on the experience economy, as does the regional event strategy, aimed at attracting international focus to the capital region as the most attractive metropolis in Northern Europe by 2015.
