ARCHITECTS OF AIR

22th August 09 - 30th August 09

Byparken, Ørestad City - Find it

EVENT AT FACEBOOK

There is a brand new city park - Byparken - in Ørestad City, designed on the basis of the needs and wishes of the people living in Ørestad.  In august 2009, the British artist group ARCHITECTS OF AIR erected one of their magic luminaries and once again they surprised the audience with the ability to transform an ordinary park in Copenhagen into Aladdins's cave.

More than 3.000 Copenhageners & tourists entered the luminary to discover a landscape of columns, labyrinthine passages and soaring domes all shining with radiant colours.

This is an architecture that awakens a sense of wonder at the beauty of light, and ARCHITECTS OF AIR

certainly made an impression on Ørestad, quite literally: The luminary left a pattern in the grass at Byparken, that makes you wonder, whether the magical labyrinth of light was in fact a visit from outer space...
