GLOWING CLIMATE

13th November 09 - 18th December 09

December 7th – 18th Copenhagen will host the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP15 at the Bella Centre.

But already from November 13th, the climate is on the table, when the art and climate festival GLOWING CLIMATE airs. Here it will be art that sets the tone in a different climate debate that goes new ways in terms of communicating, interpretating and debating the climate.

Ørestad will not only be a meeting place for heads of state and international diplomates – during GLOWING CLIMATE the area will also be a center, where you can actively engage in the climate debate.

ILLUMINATING ART

The festival revolves around a unique light and media art exhibition that manifests in the cityscape of Ørestad - on the water, in the air and on the buildings. The exhibition shows works by budding as well as established Danish and International artists, a.o. Karoline H. Larsen (DK), Jari Haanperä (FI), Thorbjørn Lausten (DK) & Steven Scott (UK/DK). See all the artists here

The artists’ works all relate to the climate theme in thought provoking and strange ways and combined with a number of events they all create a participatory, creative and spectacular framework around COP15, while at the same time they make us relate to the climate phenomenon in new and different ways.

OPENING NOVEMBER 13TH AT 7-9 PM:

GLOWING CLIMATE will open with a bite to eat and drinks in a not yet disclosed location. Later there is a party at UNDER VAND below Kay Fiskers Plads - KLIMABEAT will kick start a party with light events and dancing into the late hours.
