FROM SEA WAVES TO LIGHT AND SOUND WAVES
Helga Griffiths works at the interface between art and science. Her work in Remisen is a sensory and meditative exploration of the ever-changing nuances of the weather and the ocean.
Sense the environment in new ways as scientific ocean data are transformed into tangible light and sound waves. Real time ocean data merge with historic information and transform in response to the heat radiated from the warm bodies in the room.
A constantly changing atmosphere of sound and light is created in which past, present and future meet. You can sense the presence of the ocean.
The installation is created in collaboration with young people from the future youth centre at Remisen.
